For over 15 years, Drury has been IBM’s vendor of choice for creating global customer B2B events. In 2018, we embarked upon a new phase of that partnership: IBM Think—an amalgamation of six of IBM’s annual conferences into one all-new 30,000-person mega-event.
This multifaceted program is a prime example of Drury’s experience in design, event production, and project coordination, as well as our ability to deliver quality results while adhering to timelines and budgets.
The Ask
Create IBM Think—an amalgamation of six of IBM’s annual conferences into one all-new 30,000-person mega-event.
The Result
Think 2018 drew over 30,000 attendees from around the world to Las Vegas to attend sessions that focused on AI, cloud, blockchain and more.
The Main Tent Session, held in the Mandalay Bay Event Center, drew over 11,000 people and featured IBM Chairman, Ginni Rometty and prominent IBM customers sharing stories of how IBM technology has enabled solutions that are changing the world. This event was streamed live to thousands of people all over the world.
Think Gallery
Drury worked with the IBM Brand team to create this ambitious and thought-provoking activation. It employed immersive storytelling to highlight IBM Research’s groundbreaking work in ecology, biology, energy, commerce, and more.
The Ask
Drury was asked to work with the IBM Brand team to help create an immersive activation that connected attendees with stories from IBM Research showcasing ways that IBM is changing the world in Air & Water, Brain & Body, Energy & Commerce.
The Solution
We created experiences designed to have attendees think about how they can work with IBM to help solve their most challenging problems. The Gallery experience was a prelude leading into the Innovation Theater. As we dramatically revealed the Theater, 16' tall THINK letters with mapped imagery acted as a portal to a 360-degree surround.

Bands booked to appeal to each age group—from Millennials to Gen X to Boomers: Train, Chainsmokers and Barenaked Ladies
Wellness Program
Drury created Think Wellness to give busy attendees a space to focus on mind, body, and spiritual well-being.
This program included: Group walks and runs, kickboxing and yoga, "expert" talks on nutrition, lifestyle, and mental health.
